Nostos
From the ancient Greek: the journey home.
Applied to our human lifespans, nostos suggests a universal pattern for realizing a fulfilled life, awakening from cultural trance, moving through life's essential lessons, and arriving at a place of humble audacity. Open to learn, brave enough to risk, whole in our integrity.
Are there days when you don’t want to get out of bed?
THE NOSTOS WAY
Or, maybe you’re out of bed and already exhausted by the list of things facing you? Or, maybe you’re asking is this as good as it gets?
We’ve had those moments or periods when all our plans seemed to have gone awry. Each of us can remember times when we were anxious, sad or grieving, and/or in the middle of chaos, unwanted or unplanned transitions, betrayal by a trusted colleague, or other calamity. Yet, our learning coming out of these difficulties have been some of the richest opportunities to grow and develop.
We created NOSTOS SEMINARS™ for three audiences. See if you fit in one or more of them.
1. As an individual, you are either ready or know you must shift your life but you aren’t sure how to do so
2. As a leader, you recognize that your organization is stagnating or faltering.
3. As a community service organization, you need a wholistic program that will help those you serve change their lives.
Nostos Now is a proven, reliable adult learning program for empowered living and leading.
The program engages learners, whether on site or online, in dialogues and exercises designed to help them jettison and transcend thought patterns and behaviors in favor of new mindsets and skills sets that serve them and others well.
Nostos which means “Warrior come home.” Or “Welcome home, Warrior.” communicates our universal call to live empowered and enlightened lives that generously honor our own longings while serving a larger purpose that includes ourselves and others.
Our research since 2015 shows that Nostos fills the gap between life lessons not learned earlier and those that are required to live a life worth living. Each course, of the total ten courses, is co-facilitated by two people who themselves are lifelong learners, having faced numerous challenges themselves to emerge transformed and renewed. They/we are still works in process but with much to offer the learning communities that characterize the classes.
Learners can expect to be treated with extraordinary respect as they discover themselves through new, kinder eyes and learn valuable tools and skills that prepare them to engage their lives with a renewed sense of purpose and vitality.
Ten Courses.
One Personal Journey.

Intimacy & Community
We are relational beings who hold the capacity to either destroy or to affirm one another. Regardless of our past learning, we can unlearn old habits and develop new patterns for relating with one another. This course presents a framework for developing interpersonal relationships that counter loneliness, aggression, violence, or other self-destructive types of decision-making and relating.

Creativity & Innovative Service
Perhaps creativity, more than any other human capacity, defines a person’s level of freedom from boredom or conformity. To live a life of joy and fulfillment, creativity, innovation, and service to something beyond one’s self is essential. So why is it that people often say, “I’m not creative.” During this course, participants discover their blocks to creativity and then engage in exercises to stimulate their creative forces. The class concludes with a whole-class shared creativity, innovation, and service project.
Always Enough: Money
Money is neutral. In and of itself it is neither good nor bad. Unfortunately, the world views money as a measuring stick of one’s success and one’s value. Many of us have bought into that myth. This course will show you that it’s your relationship with money that is more significant than how much money you make or have. The relationship one has with money will determine if a person ever perceives themselves as having ‘enough.’ If our money issues were only about getting enough, then why is it that people who have won millions in the lottery are often bankrupt in a short amount of time? Along the same vein, we read stories about people who have minimal income, live with all their needs met, die and leave the millions they’ve saved to charity. Think about their mindset. This course will help you identify your relationship with money and what could shift in you so that you feel more maneuverability in your finances.
Sacred Sexuality
Sexuality surpasses our radio, digestive, neurological, and other human systems when it comes to providing pleasure and stimulating creativity. The Divine Creator imagined and willed it to be within each of us so that we could know ultimate bliss and creativity. It lasts throughout our lifespans and, at certain phases of our lifespans can be quite strong. To be fully realized requires that it be fully conscious and intended toward quality for one another. Just as any of our systems can be healed or transformed, so can our sexual system. Sacred Sexuality is designed to be a safe place where you can face any fears or scars left from previous sexual experiences. Time is allotted to learn how to approach sexuality as a gift that when valued and expressed within the context of respect, genuineness, and care becomes a source of both bliss and creative joy.
Identity
Without a clear, coherent identity, adults flounder, often creating lives of addiction or despair. This course is an educational antidote for unfulfilling lives. Multiple carefully chosen exercises affirm participants’ life purposes, values, preferred energy patterns that, when taken together, offer solid footing to live their dreams across all fronts including having rewarding relationships, creating enjoyable work and that contributes to society as it meets their needs for time and financial well-being.

Autumn 2026 – Coming Soon
Every decision is about power. To be alive is to be entrusted with power. But too often we have learned ineffective ways of expressing our power. We even become afraid of our own power. This course remedies this dilemma as it offers a model of empowerment that can be learned and practiced in one’s daily decision making and behavioral choices.

Diversity as Portal to Greater Possibilities
Have you ever wondered why ‘those’ people think or act the way ‘they’ do? Or, perhaps you feel a little afraid of people who look and talk differently than you? We now live and work in a world of people from vastly different cultures with vastly different appearances, values, opinions and lifestyles so knowing how to interact and work with others in this climate of diversity can be daunting. This course, based on studies of how humanity develops, is designed to help you appreciate that we all have a valuable role to play on this planet. At the same time this course introduces you to tools and skills for bridging these differences so that you might interact in civil and respectful ways that make you more effective in life and work.
Perhaps knowing the meaning of our work and the commitment to those impacted by our work are the two best incentives to work. Good Work means we bring our talents and our gifts in service to meaning beyond “What’s in it for me.” Yes, we all need money, but too often we see people left wanting more than just a j-o-b that pays good money. Good Work is what we do even if we aren’t paid for it. This course builds on the Identity course because doing work that serves both you and those served and/or ultimately affected by your work is always value-added.
Good Work
Homecoming
This course draws from all of the previous courses to offer you a complete structure that you can use to image, plan, and live your best lives. The learning exercises are designed so that when you complete the course, you not only graduate but become part of the whole, extended Nostos family.
